A wired socket in the room you actually use. Single, double or quad faceplate, labelled by hand, tested before I leave.
Typical job: two ethernet sockets in one visit, one in a downstairs room for gaming and one in an outside office, quoted the day before.

A wired socket in the pod, shed or summerhouse. Overhead on a catenary wire, buried in conduit, or clipped along the fence and wall.
Typical job: external ethernet cable to a garden pod at short notice for two NHS workers, back an hour later to check their laptops connected.

Why a cable
Why a cable beats a booster
WiFi is fine for phones. For a PS5, a work laptop on Teams all day or a telly streaming 4K, a cable is steadier and stays steadier. No dropouts when the microwave goes on, no lag spike at the worst moment. If a booster would genuinely fix it, I'll say so. Most of the time the fix is a cable.
I spent years as a Virgin Media engineer and years before that as a builder. Between the two and working for myself, that's more than ten years putting ethernet and TV cable into houses. I'm who people ring when the Xbox keeps lagging, the garden office has no internet, or the last engineer left a mess.
One customer had a cable fitted to his upstairs home office by another engineer and was getting 97 Mbps on a 500 Mbps line. I fitted him in the next day and replaced the cable and the boxes. His speed test afterwards read 547 Mbps down. The difference was the cable.

Had WiFi issues upstairs so wfh calls and gaming were laggy. Craig has just fitted a Ethernet port in my office...the difference is amazing...lightning quick. So chuffed. Really neat work too. Highly recommended
Craig came out at short notice to fit an external ethernet cable to our garden pod. He was on time, organised and sorted everything out even clearing up after himself.
We work for NHS so had some problems getting our laptops to connect via the new ethernet cable, but Craig popped back an hour later to check everything had got sorted.

I would definitely recommend Craig, I was having trouble with a cable that was recently fitted to my upstairs office by another engineer. I was only getting 97mbps when I'm supposed to be getting 500mbps so something wasn't right. I contacted Craig and he fitted me in the next day. He Replaced the cable and boxes, as this wasn't fit for what I needed it for and he couldn't of been more helpful. Don't make my mistake and pay twice, go to someone who is trusted. I'm now somehow
Fantastic service after nearly 2 years of slow internet and numerous sky engineers in my home head scratching Craig has come today and sorted out the problem . Two happy kids who are not driving us mad moaning they are lagging !

Who turns up
About me, briefly
Former builder, then a Virgin Media engineer. I went self-employed to put the two together, because knowing how a house is built is half of knowing how to get a cable through it neatly. I turn up in my own van with the ladders and tools, and I do the job myself, start to finish.
Do you only do ethernet?
No, ethernet sockets are the job most people message about, but it's not the only one. TV wall mounting, satellite dishes and TV aerials, moving a router, network switches and cabinets for small businesses, and tidying up old cabling are all normal work for me. How quickly can you come out?
I aim to come out as quickly as I can. How quickly depends on the week: customers have had same-day and next-day visits, and the reviews say so in their own words, but I won't promise a slot on a website. Do I need to be with Virgin Media or BT for you to fit a socket?
No, you don't need to be with any particular provider for me to fit an ethernet socket. Any router with a spare port works: a Virgin Media Hub, a router on an Openreach line from BT, Sky, TalkTalk or Plusnet, or a full-fibre setup. I run the cable from the router to a new faceplate in the room you choose and test it before I leave. The ethernet sockets page has the detail.
